The Black Hoof

The Black Hoof and the Hoof Cafe hold a very special place in my stomach. Being my first, second and third pick as best restaurant in Toronto, working on the Hoof site was an absolute thrill. I worked closely with owners Jenn Agg & Grant Van Gameren and developer extraordinaire Zack Ginies; our mission, to shatter the myth that restaurant websites had to play deep house over a cheesy intro, all wrapped up in a 640px by 480px package. The site design was aimed at the little golden nugget that makes the Black hoof what it is and shockingly, it's not the incredible food. It's the culture of the restaurant and everything around it.

Expect no food pornography at this website. We wanted to focus on the people that make the Hoof possible and that's we did. We spent the day photographing every staff member in the heat of their shift to capture the dedication of each employee.
